Community Day Center of Waltham
A daytime shelter which serves homeless and other adults in need. It provides guests with services and support, including case management to help stabilize and enhance their lives. The Day Center offers shelter space with computers, fax, telephones, television, snacks, guest speakers, counseling, referrals, and a quiet space for reading, resting, and visiting.

Boston YMCA Emergency Room
A shelter for men and women. Clients stay up to 30 days. Their other services include advocacy, counseling, 3 meals a day, access to a nurse, and clothing. Self referral.

Heading Home runs several emergency shelters for both men and women in Dorchester and Cambridge. They also provide transitional housing and operate some subsidized apartments. Also, they have a drop-in program for women who can receive hot meals, counseling, and other services.

The shelter offers both a 2 week reserved stay or a one-night emergency stay determined by a lottery. Resources at the shelter include access to computers, meals, laundry, and referrals to other resources. This is a winter shelter and is open from November until April.

Kingston House is a shelter run by the Boston Rescue Mission. This is a winter shelter (October- July). The BRM accepts self-referrals and referrals from agencies and churches. Guests must register daily.

Veterans can go to the address below at any time of day or night to sleep there that night. Emergency housing is temporary, however, the NECHV helps eligible clients to enter the transitional housing program or find a path to permanent housing. The Center also provides meals, clothing, access to medical care and dental care, day programs, transportation, storage facilities, and advocacy. The facility is handicap accessible. Clients must refer themselves.
