Waltham had a chance to take a step toward more affordable housing, and you made it happen! Over 30 WATCH supporters packed the City Council chambers last Tuesday and watched as Waltham Councilors voted to increase inclusionary zoning in our city. With the new measure passed, all new housing developments in Waltham will have make at least 15% of their units affordable – an increase from the old 10% requirement.
Our community has long advocated for advances like these, and this is one of many important steps forward. Councilors have shown they are ready to stand behind housing access, and our community has (as always) proven that they are a force to be reckoned with.
