Community Resource Guide: Eviction
Only a judge can evict you, and only a constable can actually remove you from your home. If you are facing an eviction threat or a legal eviction process, you have the right to stay in your apartment until removed by the constable. In fact, if you leave your apartment before this happens, you may become ineligible for certain sources of help available to the “evicted.” If you are being evicted, WATCH strongly suggests you seek advocacy and/or legal help and follow the eviction timeline.
