Boston College Legal Services LAB

BCLAB provides free legal assistance to low income individuals with certain types of cases to the residents of Newton, Waltham, and Watertown. Although, they do serve elderly clients from Belmont, Brookline, Needham, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston. If case is accepted by BCLAB, meetings between BCLAB and the client can take place at WATCH CDC.

They are located on the law school campus at  885 Centre St, Newton, MA 02459. However, WATCH staff can email your documents to them. BCLAB staff will then contact you, and if they accept your case, they can schedule an appointment with you at the WATCH office in Waltham.

Harvard Law School Tenancy Advocacy Project

Represents ONLY tenants of and applicants to public and subsidized housing at administrative hearings at housing authorities throughout greater Boston.

Greater Boston Legal Services

Operates a state-wide phone intake and referral service, Monday-Friday, 9 am - 12 pm.  If they can't help you, they will refer you to the appropriate agency.

Assistance for:Emergency housing situations, immigration asylum cases, denial of benefits, domestic violence, unemployment denial, job related issues, and other situations.

Eligibility is based on income.

Jewish Family and Children’s Service Legal Services (Bet Tzedek)

  • Bet Tzedek Legal Services handles a variety of practice areas, including Housing, Family Law, Public Benefits, Consumer Law, Domestic Violence, Elder Law, and Probate Law. Bet Tzedek Legal Services does not handle criminal matters, malpractice claims, or personal injury cases.
  • Bet Tzedek provides comprehensive services for SNAP (food stamp) issues.
  • Clients must meet income eligibility requirements and live within Greater Boston
