March’s Member Highlight

This month we wanted to highlight Jessica, a Massachusetts native who has been interning with WATCH since 2022. Jessica is a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts, where she is studying Human Services. She heard of WATCH’s internship program through her school's career day fair. Her love of working with the community drove her to apply to be a Housing Clinic intern at WATCH, where she is able to fulfill her passion for serving the community. Since being an intake intern for the Housing Clinic, Jessica has gained hands-on experience as a housing case manager, which she says has been a very challenging and rewarding experience.

“I could honestly say that all of the staff at WATCH care a lot about the clients. Everyone works very hard. We all know this job can be stressful at times so WATCH encourages staff to prioritize their mental health. For self-care, I like to pray, go for a walk, take a break, or drink coffee or tea. I want to thank WATCH for giving me this opportunity to be an intern. I’m forever grateful for this experience.”

Jessica has been a phenomenal intern with WATCH’s Housing Clinic. Her main responsibilities as an intake person are to apply for rental and/or fuel assistance for clients, do housing searches, and make referrals. Jessica is patient, kind, and understanding. She listens to clients and makes them feel seen and comfortable. We are so glad to have Jessica on board!
