Alvard arrived in Waltham when she migrated to the United States about 5 years ago from Armenia. Once settled, she went to the Waltham Public Library in search of ESL classes and found out about WATCH. She soon enrolled in WATCH’s ESL classes, amongst others. In WATCH’s ESL classes she was able to meet a lot of great people and create many friendships with her classmates that she now considers like family.
Alvard was recently nominated to become a WATCH Board member, in which she is very proud of. She’s excited to give her all alongside WATCH to make the Waltham community a better place.
Alvard is very passionate about protecting and preserving the environment, especially with global warming's growing impacts. For fun she likes spending time outside such as going to zoos, parks, and farms especially. She also enjoys visiting museums and baking.
