Volunteer Opportunity – English Teachers and Tutors Needed
The English program at WATCH is in need of more teachers and tutors. This is a great opportunity to get involved with Waltham’s local immigrant community, and form lasting relationships with your neighbors! Teachers work with classes of students during the spring, summer, and/or fall sessions. Teachers can be class leaders or assistants, and are supported by the Adult Education Program Manager with curriculums, materials, and training. Tutors work one-on-one with students at times that they schedule. Tutors most often meet with students at the WATCH office, but may also choose to meet at other nearby spaces, such as the public library or a café.
Trainings for new teachers/tutors will be held on the following dates:
Friday, June 28 6:00-7:30pm
Saturday, June 29 2:00-3:30pm
Saturday, July 13 3:00-4:30pm
Trainings are hosted at the WATCH office at 24 Crescent St, Set 206. For more information or to confirm attendance at a training, contact Brian at brian@watchcdc.org or (781) 891-6689 x202.
